"My Brother's Wings"

Hello all, from *Artsie_ladie*!

I wrote this for my brother that I recently lost.......

" My Brother's Wings "

Across the wild, blue yonder,

A new pair of wings are flying.

As a blessed, new soul

Crosses the fold

To a new life of living, not dying.

Up, up and away a new angel's risen

To try on his new pair of wings,

Where he'll sit upon high

And watch from the sky,

Where he'll reside with the 'King of Kings'.

Though his worldly life has cometo a close,

But forgotten shall not be,

'Cause the light for him

Will never grow dim

In our hearts we'll carry thee.

As an American,he walked proud,

And served his country well;

As he did partake

For all our sake

To keep our Liberty Bell.

He resented injustice

And those that always would take.

Someone in need

Was his friend indeed

With no air portrayed as fake.

Family ties were important to him

For he spent much time at such,

'Cause he had to see

Know the family tree

To him this mattered much.

He loved the world that God created,

But not always those in charge,

'Cause all the self seekers

Couldn't lace his sneakers

Or match integritythis large!

He reserved for those that earned

His admiration and his trust.

Compliments from him received

Were not easy, for he believed

Deservation of you a must.

A measure of greatness in a man is true,

As to how he regards his mother.

He loved and adored

And worshiped the board

She stands on like no other!

It was mostly within himself

As to where he found the fault

He never conceived

Nor truly believed

In his own wisdom vault.

Though he's gone on before us

And boarded that heavenly train,

We're sad, it's true,

Dismayed and blue...

But, in our hearts he shall remain.

We'll look to the heavens much brighter.

Our comfort shall come from afar,

'Cause we all will know

That a new heavenly glow

Shines from his soul...a star!

"My Friend, My Mother!"

Hello all, from *Artsie_ladie*!

Written especially for my Mom!

"My Friend, My Mother!"

What words do I write? What words can I say?...
About my dear Mother, when there is really no way....
To adequately state, to totally uphold,
A real superwoman which never gets told.
The credit she deserves cannot be explained.
Exault her I do for she's truly ordained.

Her spirit is relentless. Her courage so great.

With a heart so big I can only elate.

Her will is astounding though her mountains are steep.

Her compassion's abounding. Her integrity runs deep.

With endurance so endless and vitality...did I mention?

Perseverance, she has plenty, her best, her intention.

A greater compliment I could never receive...

Compared with my mother? Truly, I can't even perceive

For she is unique, surely one of a kind.

For one, even remotely, like her...never could find!

My dear Mother I honor. My dear Mother I praise.

The Lord, always, He's with her for she lives by His ways.

Never shall I know again, one so dear and true.

My dearest, most beloved friend, I truly, deeply love YOU!!!

"Sometimes...Take Time"

Hello all, from *Artsie_ladie*!

" Sometimes...Take Time "

Sometimes.....

Throughout our busy days...

In the chaos and the craze...

While we strive to live like kings,

We forget IMPORTANT things!

The beauty of a tree -

Ah, yes, a child's wonder -

Or of a rose in bloom -

Do we dare to ponder?

Seemingly insignificant matters, like thoughts 'n' prayers 'n' such...

Well, maybe, "We'll do it later...." ('cause it doesn't matter much!")

Not only of our time, is our sparing small,

But, with all our "gotta' haves", we don't recognize the call.

Of someone in need, a stranger or a friend,

Maybe just a helping hand, is all we need to lend.

You see? If it doesn't fit... within our schedule range,

Our accustomed style... we simply cannot change!

I'm not going that way... I don't think I can...

I've got to get my 'this'... That's not within my plan...

These are some 'excuses' that we're guilty of each day,

But, if we thought a moment... I bet we'd find a way!

To make a call or two or help someone in need,

If we did without a little, it would magnify, indeed!

If our material possessions were all just stripped away,

Would we be left standing... naked and in dismay?

Could we look inside our soul and be content in what we see

Or would we make some changes and throw away the key?

To the door of 'think of me'... be sure it's locked up tight,

'Cause a whole new door will open as you're showered with the light!

No longer will you have to worry about your little self,

'Cause the care you give to others will not remain upon the shelf!

You'll be surrounded in ways you can't imagine thus,

You'll feel much more significant and no more like a 'wuss'!

The rewards in life are plenty. They are there for all of us,

If we do a little caring and refocus how we fuss!

So, let us all each day find some time for others.

Share our thoughts and feelings with our sisters and our brothers.

I don't mean just family here... although they're number one,

But also, with the other souls that may not always be as fun!

Let me just say..... that I'm guilty of this, too...

That's why I'm sharing thoughts as I think of you.

And if tomorrow I'm not here, 'cause we never know what's next,

I want my family and friends to know and not to feel perplexed.

To say the way I feel... that I love each and every one...

Just doesn't seem adequate or that my task is done!

So, if there's any doubt in your minds as of today...

Remember this I've said and I mean just what I say!

I want to say one more thing, this, most of all...

May you each know God's Blessings. May they be showered on you ALL!!!
